Summary

The food system is facing sustainability challenges, and agroecology and organic agriculture offer viable alternatives. Policy goals have emphasized the need for sustainability and healthy nutrition for all, with ecologically responsible, fair, and accessible food systems. However, system transitions lag behind, and conventional narratives challenge agroecology. Evidence from research, such as the FIBL Syscom trial, shows that organic systems can support a growing population, are profitable and affordable, and are scalable.
