Participation and EcoMetric presentations at the Nordic-Baltic Scientific Conference 2026 in Uppsala, Sweden

Summary

EcoMetric and Organic+ coordinator Yoko L. Dupont and project participants from Aarhus University, Trine Poulsen, Anne Kirstine H. Rasmussen and Nina B. Birkedal, took part in the Nordic-Baltic Scientific Conference held at SLU in Uppsala, Sweden, on 15- 17 June 2026. The conference theme was "Organics as a response to the urgent need for resilient food systems", and on the 15th of June, Anne Kirstine presented a poster, "Landscape composition outweighs trophic linkages and configuration in explaining farmland bird patterns", in the afternoon poster session. On the 17th of June, Yoko presented "EcoMetric: a farmland biodiversity index", and Trine presented "Beyond organic: targeted actions for farmland biodiversity". At the conference, presentations took place in parallel sessions. Several institutions were represented: ICROFS, Aarhus University, Natural Resources Institute Finland, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Wageningen University and Research, University of Helsinki, Norwegian Centre for Organic Agriculture, University of Ulm, Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry, Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research, Justus Liebig University Giessen, The Rural Economy and Agricultural Society, Royal Institute of Technology, TP Organics, FORMAS, BERAS International Sverige, Estonian University of Life Sciences, Innovation Center for Organic Agriculture, Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Nordic Association of Agricultural Science. The conference also included three study visits to Swedish organic farms.
