Artikkelen forteller om forfatterens mor, Waldtraut Stockmeyer, og stefar, Karl Döblin. De var opprinnelig fra Sør-Tyskland og Sveits, men ble invitert til å flytte til Norge i 1930. Her kjøpte de ganske snart en gård, Norde Sletner, i nærheten av Mysen i indre Østfold. Dette ble Nordens første biodynamiske gård.

Waldtraut Stockmeyer and Karl Döblin were born in southern Germany and Switzerland, and were invited to come to Norway in 1930. They soon purchased a farm, Nordre Sletner, near Mysen in Østfold county. This became the first biodynamically managed farm in the Nordic countries.
