Summary

Farms and firms along the value chain for organic food in Germany increasingly complement or substitute traditional credit financing with financing models which base upon citizen participation. However, research on the role of consumers or citizens as investors is quite limited.
This contribution presents first insights from a research project on community financing models in the German organic food sector.
