Summary
Ergebnisse des 2008 abgeschlossenen EU-Projekts SoFar – Social Farming (Soziale Landwirtschaft – Soziale Leistungen multifunktionaler Höfe) hatten gezeigt, dass sich europaweit ökologisch wirtschaftende Betriebe im besonderen Maße für die Integration von zunächst landwirtschaftsfremden Menschengruppen eignen und genutzt werden. Im Rahmen des Projekts „Soziale Landwirtschaft auf Biobetrieben in Deutschland“ wurde das Ziel verfolgt, Strategien zur Förderung Sozialer Landwirtschaft als Perspektive insbesondere für ökologisch wirtschaftende Betriebe in Deutschland zu erarbeiten. Zehn innovative Fallbeispiele sozialer Höfe mit unterschiedlichen Nutzergruppen werden vorgestellt, für die bisher kaum oder keinerlei Netzwerkstrukturen bestehen (Obdachlose, Langzeitarbeitslose, Drogenkranke, Jugendhilfe u.a.). Aufbauend auf ein Strategiegespräch mit Experten der Ökolandbauverbände sowie Trägern Sozialer Arbeit und eine intensive Öffentlichkeitsarbeit (Projekt-Rundbriefe, Website www.soziale-landwirtschaft.de, Gesprächstermine und Hofbesuche, Publikationen, Tagungsbeiträge) wurde im Oktober 2009 die Tagung „Praxis und Ziele Sozialer Landwirtschaft in Deutschland – Die Verbindung von Landbau und Sozialarbeit als Herausforderung“ veranstaltet, die mit fast 140 Teilnehmern ein großer Erfolg war. Ein Fokus der Tagung lag – neben der Vorstellung der Vielfalt Sozialer Landwirtschaft durch Praxisbeispiele – in der partizipativen Erarbeitung von Grundlagen für die Ausgestaltung einer „Deutschen Arbeitsgemeinschaft Soziale Landwirtschaft“ nach dem Vorbild der seit 2004 bestehenden, europäischen Arbeitsgemeinschaft Farming for Health. Die Tagung war geprägt von einer fast euphorischen Aufbruchstimmung – der weitere Arbeitsschritte zur inhaltlichen Ausgestaltung im Rahmen einer geplanten 2. Projektphase folgen müssen, die das von vielen Teilnehmern signalisierte Engagement aufgreift.

The outcomes of the EU-SoFar project (Social Farming – Social Services in Multifunctional Farms, finished 2008) had revealed that organic farms are specially suited and used to include different clients, users and beneficiaries. The aim of the project “Social Farming on Organic Farms in Germany” was to develop strategies to support social farming activities especially as a perspective for organic farms in Germany. Ten innovative organic social farms as examples of best practice caring for different client groups (homeless people, long-term unemployed, drug addicts, youngsters, etc.) are presented. No networking structures for those farms exist until today. A strategic platform with experts from social work and organic farming was organized. Project newsletters, the project website www.soziale-landwirtschaft.de, expert meetings and farm visits, publications and contributions to scientific conferences lead to the public conference “Practice and Aims of Social Farming in Germany – The Combination of Social Work and Farming as a Challenge”. With almost 140 participants this event organized by the project team became a big success. The multitude of practical approaches of social farming on organic farms was presented. Furthermore basic ideas for implementing a “German Community of Practice of Social Farming” were elaborated in a participatory way – taking over the approach of the CoP Faming for Health that has existed since 2004 on European level. The whole conference was characterized by a great enthusiasm of the participants. Now the next steps of work will have to follow in order to keep the will and offers of many actors to contribute and to take responsibility to develop a German CoP for Social Farming.
