Summary

EGTOP (= the Expert Group for Technical advice on Organic Production) aims to provide advice to the European Commission concerning the authorisation of the use of products, substances and techniques in organic farming and processing, to develop or improve organic production rules and, more in general, on any other matter relating to the area of organic production. Frank Oudshoorn from SEGES, Denmark participates in EGTOP since 2018, and he is also active in several work packages in the Organic-PLUS Project. In this presentation, he described the work in EGTOP, where topics selected to be treated by this Group are described and analysed in a dossier, often written by appointed sub-Groups. EGTOP assesses the dossier and makes a decision (advice). Digestate, struvite, biochar and stripped nitrogen were presented as relevant cases for this workshop.
