Son yıllarda, tüketicilerin sağlıklı ve güvenli gıda tüketme talepleri, organik meyve yetiştiriciliğinin artmasını sağlamıştır. Türkiye, sahip olduğu farklı iklim koşulları ve meyve türü çeşitliliği ile organik meyve yetiştiriciliğine uygun alanlar içermektedir. Bu derleme, Türkiye’de organik elma yetiştiriciliğinin mevcut durumu ve geleceği ile ilgili değerlendirmeleri kapsamaktadır. Türkiye’de organik elma yetiştiriciliği Niğde, Afyonkarahisar ve Konya illerinde yaygın olarak yapılmaktadır. Bu illerde yazlık elma çeşitlerinden ‘Mondial Gala’, ‘Buckeye Gala’; kışlık elma çeşitlerinden ‘Jonagold’, ‘Braeburn’, ‘Jeromine’, ‘Fuji’ ve ‘Rome Beauty’ gibi çeşitler yanında Granny Smith ve Golden Delicious gibi standart elma çeşitleri de organik yetiştiricilikte kullanılmaktadır. Türkiye, bu çeşitlerle 9.370 ha’lık alanda 87.183 ton organik elma üretimi gerçekleştirmekte olup, bu üretim alanı ile Avrupa’nın ikinci büyük üretim merkezi konumundadır. Sonuç olarak, Türkiye’nin sahip olduğu uygun ekolojik koşullar ile organik elma üretim alanlarının gelecekte artma potansiyelinin bulunduğu söyleyebiliriz.
Summary translation
In recent years, the demand from consumers to consume healthy and safe food has led to an increase in organic fruit cultivation. Türkiye contains areas suitable for organic fruit cultivation with its different climatic conditions and rich of fruit species. This review covers the evaluation of the current situation of organic apple growing in Türkiye. Organic apple cultivation in Türkiye is widely carried out in the provinces of Niğde, Afyonkarahisar and Konya. In these provinces, summer apple cultivars such as ‘Mondial Gala’ and ‘Buckeye Gala’, winter apple cultivars such as ‘Jonagold’, ‘Braeburn’, ‘Jeromine’, ‘Fuji’, ‘Beauty’ and standard cultivars such as ‘Granny Smith’ and ‘Golden Delicious’ are used in organic cultivation. Turkey produces 87.183 tons of organic apples in an area of 9.370 hectares and is the second-largest production center in Europe with this production area. As a result, we can be said that Turkey has the potential to increase organic apple production areas in the future with its favorable ecological conditions.
