Summary in the original language of the document

A survey was carried out in the framework of the Horizon Europe project ‘InnOBreed’ to get a sharper understanding of the current fruit tree (pip fruits, stone fruits, almonds, grapes, and citrus) organic breeding needs and lack of knowledge across Europe. Several areas of problems and needs appeared across organic fruit breeding, variety testing, and plant propagation in nurseries. Due firstly to the fact that fruit trees are perennial plants exposed to many periods (at least 10 to 20 years) of biotic and abiotic stress risks and secondly due to some restrictions in organic production, also concerning breeding, variety testing, and fruit propagation in nurseries, these are facing more constraints and pressures than conventional fruit system.
