Summary
This factsheet provides an overview of EU organic regulations, national regulations of nine European countries as well as private standards concerning concrete outdoor runs for organic pigs. Additionally, it presents the results of the Core Organic Cofund project POWER on an outdoor run’s relevance for animal welfare and its environmental impact.
