DARCOF I

In 1996 the first six research programmes were established, involving 33 projects, 15 institutes and about 100 researchers. Together, these projects are named DARCOF I. Most of the projects have been concluded by the end of 2000.

Energy in organic agriculture
In an ongoing synthesis of knowledge the present possibilities for diminution of energy consumption in organic farming and the possibilities for production of energy on individual farms are examined.

DARCOF II

In 2000 a new research effort (DARCOF II) was initiated in continuation of the second Danish action plan for organic farming. The objectives is to produce knowledge that support production and a closer relationship between the inherent and organic qualities of organic foods.
