Summary
Milestone 1.3 reviews the factors enabling and constraining the development of organic farming and aquaculture in Europe. Drawing on 255 scientific and grey literature documents, it examines the roles of policy, markets, knowledge and cooperation, alongside farmers’ and consumers’ perspectives. It highlights how these factors interact across countries and production sectors and identifies lessons for supporting further organic sector development.
