Summary
This plant genetic card presents information on the traditional ‘Hâtive de Genève’ corn salad (Valerianella locusta) cultivar from Geneva, Switzerland. Preserved in the Changins gene bank and by ProSpecieRara, the cultivar was recently rediscovered and evaluated in a bachelor’s thesis at HEPIA in 2022. The card covers its history, cultivation characteristics, winter cropping potential and culinary uses, including its performance in comparison with modern reference varieties. The card is available in French, German and English and was provided by ProSpecieRara as part of the Horizon Europe LiveSeeding project.
