Summary

The total organic area in 2024 was 224,133 hectares (including 221,802 hectares of agricultural land), which is 1.6% less than in 2023. Organic farmland accounted for 22% of all agricultural land in Estonia. There were 1,885 agricultural holdings engaged in organic production, of which 1,016 kept organic livestock.
The successful introduction of organic food in educational institutions continued in 2024 – nearly 30% of Estonia’s school and kindergarten children received food that was partially organic.
Organic products continue to be available in the widest range in specialized organic shops, but in terms of sales volume, more organic food is sold in regular supermarkets.
