Summary

The training for innovation support agents, offered by the i2connect project, will focus on their role in multi-actor innovation processes. As an example, the Cynefin model is useful for problem classification, the Double Diamond model for collaboration and goal-setting, the Spiral of Initiatives for project assessment, the Warm and Cold process for managing the energy in a project team, the Circle of Coherence for interaction analysis, the Triangle of Co-Creation for understanding actor roles, and network analysis for actor involvement. The project offers classes for advisors, trainers and managers of advisory services. The material shared and developed during these i2connect classes is shared on Moodle. To access the Moodle platform, you need to register. Please contact bernadette.oehen@fibl.org for registration.

EPrint Type:Practice tool
Teaser:Connecting advisers to boost interactive innovation in agriculture and forestry.
What problem does the tool address?:Innovation and innovative processes have always been part of advisory work. In the past, it was focused on new production techniques, the introduction of research results, and more and more on methods to lower the production costs and to optimize subsidies. Today it is accepted that knowledge is also gained by practitioners from their own work, from experiences in groups and their raising knowledge from different information channels. The group of stakeholders has been extended by representatives of value chains, consumers, NGO’s and researchers. This offers new perspectives for advisors. The role of knowledge transfer nowadays is extended to the role of a facilitator. And tomorrow more and more advisors are needed to support multi-actor innovation processes. In the past, innovation processes were the product of hazards and intuition.
What solution does the tool offer?:The i2connect project aims to enhance advisors' skills in supporting interactive innovation processes. Various tools and methods are available for this purpose. To choose the right tool, consider the problem, context, and questions you face. Ultimately, supporting interactive innovation also requires the right mindset, focusing on relationship-building, and connecting people. All the tools are available on the project's website for testing and exploration.
