Small plot trials for protein and legume crops

Summary

In small plot trials for protein and legume crops, we have been testing different varieties under organic conditions since 2022. Plots are arranged in a randomized, 4 replicate experimental design. They are at least 1x6 m in size and implement agro-techniques according to organic farming standards. Sowing and harvesting are carried out with small plot seeders and combines. Meteorological data during the growing season are recorded, weed pressure, plant protection and phenological data are also recorded. The small plot trials are designed to compare varieties and to assess the production potential and agrotechnological challenges of different protein crops.
