Summary
Depuis 2020, le CRA-W compare différents systèmes de culture en maraîchage (plateforme SYCMA). Ces deux dernières années, le schéma de plantation de certaines cultures a évolué dans le but de réduire le travail manuel de désherbage et d’améliorer la rentabilité économique des systèmes de production. Cela s’est concrétisé par l’adoption
de la stratégie « moins de rangs – plus grande densité dans le rang ». Pour illustrer cela, le temps de désherbage
manuel et les rendements des cultures d’oignons et de betteraves rouges ont été mesurés durant quatre années de
production, en relation avec le schéma de plantation pratiqué. Les résultats sont présentés ci-dessous et c’est parlant !
Summary translation
Since 2020, CRA-W has been comparing different vegetable farming systems (SYCMA platform). Over the past two years, the planting pattern for certain crops has evolved with the aim of reducing manual weeding work and improving the economic profitability of production systems. This has resulted in the adoption of
the 'fewer rows – higher density within rows' strategy. To illustrate this, the time spent on manual weeding
and the yields of onion and beetroot crops were measured over four years of
production, in relation to the planting pattern used. The results are presented below and speak for themselves!
