What problem does the tool address?: | The brown marmorated stink bug Halyomorpha halys (Stål, 1855) is spreading in Germany. It has become one of the most important harmful organisms on fruit, but also on vegetables or crops such as soy. She is not a quarantiner ganism, as eradication is no longer possible. Where the bug occurs massively on host plants (especially sensitive fruits) it causes great damage. In Switzerland and Italy, these now amount to the tune of millions. In 2019 alone, the brown marmorated stink bug caused overall damage estimated at 500 – 600 million in Italy alone. |
What solution does the tool offer?: | In order to successfully combat the pest, it is important to recognize it timely and to develop and learn effective methods of fighting it. |
