InnOBreed’s first international training course was held 14-16 May 2024. It was set up as an online course consisting in lectures and exercises, enabling students and researchers in organic breeding from across Europe and beyond to participate.
About the content of this presentation:
The importance of genetic resources. An exemple with the belgian pome fruit genetic resources: appel and pier. Local adaptability, local and diversity of uses, rusticity, generally pests & diseases tolerances, phenotypic diversity. Future challenges : Towards better ‘robustness’. Conservation of old cultivars at the Walloon Agricultural Research Centre. Presentation of the EPCGR european programme.
