Fem videoer film om hvordan landmændene på to økologiske gårde organiserer, at deres kalve og køer kan trives sammen i ko-kalv systemer. De viser råmælkstildeling, græsning, introduktion til ammetanter, fravænning og separation. Ko-kalv systemerne er under stadig udvikling, og denne film viser eksempler fra gårde, hvor kalvene går hos deres mødre i nogle uger, inden de tilknyttes en ammetante.
