Camelina is an oil crop cultivated in Europe since ancient times. It contains a healthy oil rich in unsaturated fatty acids, omega three acids. It also contains gondoic acids, which is interesting for the biochemical industry. Camelina needs few fertilizers. It's resistant to the diseases and pests, so it fits very well to organic systems. The SCOOP project is about camelina intercropping with other companion crops like spelt wheat, pea, lentil, flax, buckwheat etc. In the SCOOP project, we would like to show that camelina is suitable for many climates. Therefore, we established field trials with camelina and companion crops in Poland, in Bulgaria, Italy and Turkey.

Leindotter (Camelina) ist eine Ölpflanze, die in Europa seit der Antike angebaut wird. Sie enthält ein gesundes Öl, das reich an ungesättigten Fettsäuren, den Omega-3-Fettsäuren, ist. Es enthält auch Gondosäuren, die für die biochemische Industrie interessant sind. Camelina braucht wenig Dünger. Es ist resistent gegen Krankheiten und Schädlinge und eignet sich daher sehr gut für ökologische Systeme. Beim SCOOP-Projekt geht es um den Anbau von Leindotter in Kombination mit anderen Begleitkulturen wie Dinkel, Erbsen, Linsen, Flachs, Buchweizen usw. Im Rahmen des SCOOP-Projekts möchten wir zeigen, dass Leindotter für viele Klimazonen geeignet ist. Deshalb haben wir Feldversuche mit Leindotter und Begleitpflanzen in Polen, Bulgarien, Italien und der Türkei durchgeführt.
