De biologische veehouderij stelt hogere eisen aan het dierwelzijn door bijvoorbeeld strogebruik te verplichten en door meer stal- en uitloopruimte beschikbaar te stellen aan de dieren. Over de milieueffecten van de biologische veehouderij is echter nog weinig bekend. Doel van dit onderzoek was om een inventarisatie te maken van de processen en factoren die een rol spelen bij de emissies van ammoniak, methaan, lachgas, geur en fijn stof uit de biologische veehouderij.
Summary translation
Organic farming places greater demands on animal welfare, for example by requiring the use of straw and more space available to the animals in the animal house as well as outdoors. There is still little known on the environmental impacts of the organic livestock production. The aim of this research was to make an inventory of the processes and factors that might play a role in the emissions of ammonia, methane, nitrous oxide, smell and fine dust from the organic-production livestock.
