Summary
The current study has been conducted to gain insight in the level of animal welfare in several Dutch broiler production systems. Furthermore, a cost analysis was done for each broiler production system type to gain insight in the costs of different production system types with a different level of animal welfare. Several broiler production system types were included in the study, namely conventional, Volwaard, Puur & Eerlijk, extensive outdoor and organic broiler production.
