Summary

The organic farm “Silberdistel” in Switzerland invented a self-contained mobile pigsty, to fatten pigs on permanent grassland, while protecting the soil and maintaining the grass cover. This publication presents pasture management and costs as well as the Core Organic Cofund project POWER’s assessment of productivity, animal welfare and environmental impact of this farm.
