Summary
L’accès à un parcours extérieur est une obligation réglementaire dans le cadre de l’élevage avicole biologique. Il est possible de valoriser son utilisation par les animaux car il peut rendre des services aux animaux. Les parcours peuvent agir à différents niveaux : santé, alimentation, performance zootechnique, environnement, comportement. Le dispositif AlterAvi a permis d’étudier les services rendus par les parcours. Ainsi, des aménagements comme l’implantation d’arbres ont permis d’augmenter la durabilité des élevages notamment en améliorant les performances zootechniques et en diminuant l’impact environnemental. L’implantation d’arbres provoque une meilleure utilisation des parcours par les animaux. De plus, le parcours pourrait jouer un rôle dans la prévention du parasitisme. Il pourrait être une ressource en plantes à propriété antiparasitaire qui seraient consommées par les poulets parasités. Enfin, le parcours pourrait constituer une ressource alimentaire pour les poulets. Il est donc nécessaire d’avoir une bonne gestion des parcours de volailles.
Summary translation
The access to an outdoor run is a regulatory obligation in organic poultry production. It is possible to value its use by animals because it provides services to animals. Outdoor run can act at various levels: health, feed, growth performances, environment, and behaviour. The experimental facility AlterAvi made it possible to investigate services provided by outdoor run. So, landscaping as trees made it possible to increase the sustainability of the breeding in particular by improving the growth performances and by decreasing the environmental impact. The exploratory behaviour increased when birds were offered an outdoor run with trees. Furthermore, the outdoor run could play a role in the prevention of the parasitism. It could be a resource in plants with antiparasitic properties which would be eaten by the infected broilers. Finally, the outdoor run could be a feed resource for the broilers. It is thus necessary to have a good management of the poultry outdoor run.
