Summary in the original language of the document

Seeds of the following varieties were selected for sowing on the trial plots:
• White clover „Hebe“
• Red clover diploid: „Lucrum“ (1), tetraploid: „Titus“ (2)
• Lucerne „Daphne“
Observations of the hens’ feed preference was done by the farmer and supported by images from wild cameras. Nutritional analysis of the clover varieties and lucerne provided information on their feed value.
There was no clear preference for individual plots, although there was a slight tendency for white clover. A mixture of lucerne and white clover is recommended for the poultry range, with the areas closest to the stable remaining grass.

Summary translation

- Rotklee diploid: "Lucrum" (1), tetraploid: "Titus" (2)
- Luzerne "Daphne"

EPrint Type:Practice tool
Teaser:Clover varieties in the free range provide an additional source of feed intake.
What problem does the tool address?:Feeding poultry with regional and fully organic components, in line with animal needs, is still very difficult to achieve in many parts of Europe. The supply of sulphur-containing amino acids (e.g., methionine) is especially challenging.
What solution does the tool offer?:In the search for protein-rich components, the poultry range should be considered.
