Summary in the original language of the document

Summary translation

The experiments were carried out during 2014–2018. There were 5 crops in rotation: red clover, winter wheat, pea, potato and barley undersown (us) with red clover. There were 5 cultivation systems in the experimental setup: 2 conventional systems with chemical plant protection and mineral fertilizers; 3 organic systems which included winter cover crops and farm manure. The aim of the present research was to study the effect of cultivating red clover on the soil total nitrogen (Ntot) content. The cultivation of red clover had a positive effect on the Ntot content in both farmng systems. The content of total nitrogen in the soil of organic systems was higher (18.5% after barley undersown with red clover, 17.1% after red clover, 14.3% after winter wheat), compared to the conventional systems with mineral fertilizers and plant protection. Comparing the unfertilized organic and conventional plots it was observed that the soil where pesticides (incl glyphosates) were used, the content of total soil nitrogen (Ntot) was lower by 10.6–24.0%, compared to the organic treatments with no pesticides.
