Summary

The technical booklet "Feeding pigs in organic farming" is intended for farmers and advisors. It is based on the results of four research projects and provides a synthesis of information on e.g. the regulations concerning the feeding of organic pigs, feeding management and the needs of animals according to their physiological stage. Furthermore, it includes information on the nutritive value of organic raw materials, examples of diet formulation and expected performances, the use of feedstuff and its manufacturing on the farm. This document has been produced specifically for organic farming, but may be useful for all pig farmers. It can be used regardless of a farm's location.

Le cahier technique “Alimentation des porcins en agriculture biologique” s’adresse aux éleveurs et conseillers. Il s’appuie sur les résultats issus de 4 projets de recherche et apporte des informations synthétiques sur : la réglementation concernant l’alimentation des porcs biologiques ; la conduite alimentaire ; les besoins des animaux en fonction de leur stade physiologique ; la valeur alimentaire des matières premières biologiques ; des exemples de formulations alimentaires et de performances attendues ; l’utilisation des parcours et du fourrage et sur la fabrication d’aliments à la ferme. Ce document a été réalisé spécifiquement pour l’agriculture biologique, mais peut être utile pour tous les éleveurs de porcs. Il est utilisable quelle que soit la localisation des élevages.
