Summary

This study focuses on the concept of local food, from a regional and structural economics perspective. The empirical research concerns the effects of changes in foodstuff demand, food industry and agricultural production in South-Savo region, in rural eastern Finland. The research is carried out by constructing and utilising Regional agro-economic model (RegAE).
