Summary

This tool provides an understanding of the disease cycle and symptoms of Tobamo-viruses on tomato and pepper (ToMV, TMV, ToBRFV), and presents a range of strategies and methods to prevent and manage them in organic seed production. Strategies and methods are presented in a comprehensive table. A color code indicates how cost- and labor-intensive each practice is. The compilation is based on an in-depth literature study and contributions from co-authors, based on their organisation's experience.
The intention is to enable practitioners to establish their strategy to mitigate disease risk and react appropriately of respective diseases occur with regards to the context they work in. The knowledge and set of practices presented in the document are also a basis for future innovation.
