Summary
This plant genetic card presents information on the ‘Evoldur Terre Frumentarie’ organic heterogeneous material (OHM) of durum wheat (Triticum turgidum subsp. durum) from Italy. The material was developed from factorial crosses involving several durum wheat cultivars and subsequently allowed to evolve for five generations under Sicilian conditions, with participatory evaluation and selection involving local farmers. The card documents its history and development, general characteristics, technical characteristics, cultivation and uses, supporting the conservation and continued use of locally adapted wheat genetic resources. The plant genetic card was provided in English and Italian by Rete Semi Rurali as part of the Horizon Europe LiveSeeding project.
