Summary

This plant genetic card presents information on the traditional ‘Jaune du Lac de Bret’ tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) from the Lake Geneva region of Switzerland. Selected by the Jardins des Charrotons from a tomato found near Lac de Bret in 2000, the cultivar was included in the Semences de Pays catalogue in 2011 and has since gained increasing popularity. The card covers its history, technical characteristics and culinary uses, with the tomato particularly suited to salads and carpaccio. The card is available in French, German and English and was provided by ProSpecieRara as part of the Horizon Europe LiveSeeding project.
