Training materials for organic seed and breeding entrepreneurship training centre

Summary

This deliverable presents the training materials developed under Task 5.4 of the LiveSeeding project, which focuses on strengthening intrepreneurship in the organic seed and plant breeding sector. The training activities respond to the need to build capacities to work towards the EU objective of achieving the full use of organic plant reproductive material in organic farming by 2036 and address the need to consolidate viable, resilient and market -oriented organic seed and breeding initiatives across Europe.
Organic seed and breeding initiatives, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, continue to face structural challenges such as fragmented markets, limited access to finance, regulatory uncertainty and insufficient visibility and recognition of organic and biodiversity-based varieties. Task 5.4 addresses these challenges through a dedicated capacity-building pathway that places entrepreneurship at the centre of the transition towards sustainable and diverse organic seed systems.
