Summary

Black soldier fly larvae performance, nutrient conversion, and microbial communities were strongly influenced by the type of agricultural by‑product mixtures used, as well as by production scale. While diet affected growth, amino‑acid composition, and microbiota, scaling up revealed complex interactions, indicating that laboratory‑derived production parameters cannot be directly transferred to industrial systems without caution.
