Summary in the original language of the document

The intuitive tool is designed to enable practitioners to spatially arrange trees, bushes and flower strips and quantify the effect on pollinator insects with regard to the habitat suitability of their areas. The range of the insects' pollination performance is modeled spatially, as is the growth and flower supply of trees and bushes over the course of the year and over the years. You can choose between different tree and shrub species and place the individuals in your area. Various sliders can be used to change seasonal changes as well as the age and dimensions of the trees. The effects are immediately visible on the map.

Teaser:Integration of habitat structures in agricultural areas for the promotion of pollinator insects.
What problem does the tool address?:This tool is part of the INTEGRA project, where various aspects of the “Integration of habitat structures in agricultural areas to promote pollinator insects (INTEGRA)” are being investigated. The main focus is on quantitative modeling of the effect of landscape elements on habitat quality and food supply for pollinator insects. Food resources and nesting opportunities are therefore modeled quantitatively and in their spatial effect in the landscape context.
What solution does the tool offer?:The aim of the INTEGRA project is to develop a freely available software tool for the spatial planning of habitat characteristics of agricultural systems on a scientific basis. The software tool integrates the knowledge newly acquired in the project on the introduction of trees, shrubs and flowering plants into the agricultural landscape in order to ensure a diverse food supply for typical pollinator insects throughout the year and to optimize the supply of nesting sites.
