Pour pouvoir sélectionner des vaches laitières adaptées aux conditions locales et réduire les concentrés, on devrait suivre soigneusement l’évolution du dépôt de graisse sous-cutanée (BCS). Les vaches, capables de bien valoriser les fourrages produits sur l’exploitation et ne nécessitant pratiquement aucun aliment complémentaire, adaptent leur comportement alimentaire aux fourrages.
