Summary
The ClimateFarmDemo Project aims at implementing and demonstrating measures for climate-smart farming on 1500 demo farms across Europe. An important project outcome is a toolbox for advisors and farmers featuring over 250 climate-friendly practices. With tools like Cap’2er or Farm Carbon Calculator the greenhouse gas performance of the demo farms will be assessed. Furthermore, the project explores rewarding mechanisms for farmers adopting new measures.
Pilot demo farms measure carbon footprints, develop action plans, and conduct three on-farm demos. Living Labs in ten European countries engage stakeholders in experimentation. The project also works together with two Lighthouse Farms, which try out innovative solutions and take part in research projects.
Collaboration with other Horizon Europe projects, like Climate Smart Advisors, ensures knowledge exchange, and capacity building.
