Die Verringerung von Krankheitserregern auf dem Saatgut kann eine wirksame Massnahme zur Übertragung von saatgutübertragbaren Krankheiten sein. Im Biolandbau bestehen aufgrund des Verbots von chemisch-synthetischen Pflanzenschutzmitteln nur wenige Möglichkeiten, befallenes Saatgut zu behandeln.
