Summary
Plastik ist in der ökologischen Landwirtschaft nützlich, aber viele Mikro- und Nanoplastiken gelangen durch abgebaute Produkte und ungewollt durch Reifenabrieb und Müll in den Boden. Wir wissen jedoch wenig über die im Boden verbleibenden Mengen und ihre Auswirkungen auf die Bodengesundheit und die Umwelt.
Summary translation
Plastics are intentionally used in agriculture, in mulch films or poly-tunnels, in irrigation tubes and hail nets, and a lot of micro- and nano-plastics (MNP) enter the soil from degraded products and unintentionally through tyre wear and littering. In particular, in organic agriculture, farmers rely on plastic as a substitute to herbicide, and a way to save water and warm the soil. However, we know little about the quantities remaining in the soil and their effect on soil health and the environment. In this workshop, we will present work from the MINAGRIS project and brainstorm on how to optimise the use of plastics and discuss alternatives to prevent environmental pollution.
