Summary
TransBioFruit existe parce qu’il y a une demande ! Les arboriculteurs biologiques ont été à l’origine de ce projet en sollicitant des réponses aux questions techniques qui se posent. Ils se sont investis dans le déroulement des
programmes en accueillant des expérimentations et en partageant leur expérience.
Si la production de fruits biologiques est aujourd’hui reconnue comme partie prenante d’une démarche de développement durable et si elle est l’objet d’une demande des consommateurs en augmentation constante, sa mise en pratique ne va pas de soi.
Les arboriculteurs biologiques sont, chaque jour, confrontés à des questions sur la manière de maintenir un état sanitaire satisfaisant de leurs vergers dans le respect du cahier des charges européen de l’agriculture biologique.
Pour se développer et être économiquement rentable, l’agriculture biologique doit s’appuyer sur toutes les techniques de production les plus modernes, à la fois innovantes et respectueuses de l’environnement. Pour peu que les producteurs adoptent une approche globale, les solutions développées dans ce projet sont transférables aux arboriculteurs conventionnels qui souhaitent diminuer leurs utilisations de produits chimiques de synthèse.
De manière générale, répondre à ces problématiques permet aussi d’accompagner et d’anticiper les évolutions des réglementations européennes de plus en plus restrictives concernant l’utilisation des produits phytosanitaires en agriculture.

TransBioFruit exists because there is a demand! Organic farmers have been at the origin of this project by asking for answers to technical questions. They have invested in the development of the programs by hosting experiments and sharing their experience.
If organic fruit production is now recognized as part of a sustainable development approach and if it is the object of a constantly increasing consumer demand, its implementation is not self-evident.
Organic arboriculturists are, every day, confronted with questions on how to maintain a satisfactory sanitary state of their orchards in the respect of the European specifications of organic agriculture. To develop and be economically profitable, organic agriculture must rely on all the most modern production techniques, both innovative and respectful of the environment. As long as producers adopt a global approach, the solutions developed in this project are transferable to conventional arboriculturists who wish to reduce their use of synthetic chemical products. In general, responding to these problems also allows us to accompany and anticipate the changes in European regulations, which are increasingly restrictive concerning the use of phytosanitary products in agriculture.
