Summary
L’AB a permis le développement de nombreuses innovations en agriculture et constitue un exemple particulièrement avancé de méthodes accordant une grande attention à la durabilité ainsi qu’aux impacts environnementaux et sociétaux. Les données récentes en matière de développement de l’AB en Wallonie ont montré que les superficies affectées à ce mode de production ont été multipliées par 2,7 entre 2005 et 2012 et atteignent ainsi un total de 7,6% de la SAU. Durant cette même période, le nombre d’exploitations converties à ce mode d’exploitation a également été multiplié par 2,2, ce qui représente aujourd’hui plus de 1100 entreprises affiliées à un organisme de contrôle. Au niveau de la consommation, la part des produits bio dans les achats des ménages est également en forte augmentation. Durant la période 2004-2010, elle a été multipliée par un facteur de 1,7. Suite à ce constat, un "Plan stratégique pour le développement de l’AB en Wallonie à l’horizon 2020" vient d’être approuvé par le Gouvernement Wallon. Il vise notamment à doubler les surfaces conduites en AB. Parmi les objectifs de ce plan, figure la nécessité d’accroître et de structurer les efforts en matière de recherche, d’encadrement et de vulgarisation spécifiques à ce secteur
Summary translation
AB has allowed the development of many innovations in agriculture and is a particularly advanced example of methods that pay great attention to sustainability as well as to environmental and societal impacts. Recent data on the development of AB in Wallonia have shown that the area allocated to this production method has been multiplied by 2.7 between 2005 and 2012, reaching a total of 7.6% of the UAA. During the same period, the number of farms converted to this method of production also increased by a factor of 2.2, which now represents more than 1,100 companies affiliated to a control body. In terms of consumption, the share of organic products in household purchases is also increasing significantly. During the period 2004-2010, it has been multiplied by a factor of 1.7. Following this observation, a "Strategic plan for the development of organic farming in Wallonia by 2020" has just been approved by the Walloon Government. It aims in particular to double the surface area under AB. Among the objectives of this plan is the need to increase and structure efforts in terms of research, supervision and extension specific to this sector
