Suite à une demande du secteur d’expérimenter des pistes pour redynamiser l’élevage biologique de porc, le Centre wallon de Recherches agronomiques (CRA-W) a réalisé courant 2015, un essai alimentaire en vue de tester des rations simples d’engraissement élaborées au départ de matières premières produites à la ferme. L’objectif étant d’évaluer l’impact technique et économique de ces aliments, en phases de croissance, engraissement et finition, par rapport à un aliment témoin acheté dans le commerce. En préambule à cet essai, une enquête a été réalisée dans l’ensemble des fermes possédant un atelier porc biologique en Wallonie avec l’objectif de caractériser les pratiques d’élevage.
Summary translation
Following a request from the sector to experiment with ways of revitalising organic pig farming, the Walloon Centre for Agronomic Research (CRA-W) carried out a feed trial in 2015 with a view to testing simple fattening rations made from raw materials produced on the farm. The objective was to evaluate the technical and economic impact of these feeds, in the growth, fattening and finishing phases, in comparison with a control feed purchased on the market. As a prelude to this trial, a survey was carried out on all farms with an organic pig workshop in Wallonia with the aim of characterising rearing practices.
