Summary in the original language of the document
Bones from white fish (cod, saithe, longfish etc.) are rich in nutrients (N, P, Ca). Large volumes are available which are currently poorly utilised by the fish industry. Estimates show that about 3900 tons of P for fertilisation could be available per year in Norway. This comprises close to 50% of the consumption of P in mineral fertilisers in Norway annually. Fishbone waste could be applied as a fertiliser in organic agriculture.
