Summary in the original language of the document
In this video plant breeder and common bunt researcher Anders Borgen from Agrologica (DK) describes in some detail how to address the issue of bunt control. With illustrative slides and statistics, he introduces the participants to how organic farmers, in particular those working with heritage varieties, can detect infection. Methods to prevent and minimise spread, in the field and with seed lots are described. The speaker spends some time detailing how to perform seed cleaning (ordinary and brush) and which seed treatments have a good effect (in particular vinegar). He also addresses issues specific to spring versus winter wheat, and to emmer.
