Summary
Les corneilles peuvent causer de gros dégâts dans les maïs et anéantir totalement un jeune peuplement. Surtout s’il est semé tôt, le maïs se développe lentement et cela donne davantage de temps aux corneilles pour le tirer hors du sol. Pour diminuer ce risque, il est recommandé d’attendre que la terre atteigne une température de 8 à 10 °C pour semer le maïs afin de favoriser un développement juvénile rapide de la culture.
