Summary
Uurimistulemustest selgus, et punase ristiku kasvatamine külvikorras avaldab soodsat mõju mikroorganismidele, tõstes mullamikroobide aktiivsust. Pestitsiididega töödeldud tavaviljelussüsteemides oli mulla mikroobide aktiivsus ja orgaanilise süsiniku sisaldus võrreldes mahesüsteemidega madalam.
Summary translation
The experiments were carried out at the Eerika test site of Rõhu experimental station of Institute of agricultural and environmental sciences, Estonian University of Life Sciences during 2014–2017. There were 3 crops in rotation: barley undersown with red clover, red clover and winter wheat. There were 5 cultivation systems in the experimental setup (two conventional systems with chemical plant protection and mineral fertilizers, 3 organic systems which included winter cover crops and farm manure). The aim of the present research was to study the effect of cultivating the red clover and winter wheat on the soil microbial activity and the change in the content of organic carbon (Corg). Our results indicated that the cultivation of barley undersown with red clover had a positiive impact on the content of soil microorganisms, by increasing their hydrolytic activity. The soil parameters in the soil of conventional fields (without fertilizers) after the cultivation of barley undersown with red clover were lower by 16.7%, compared to the soil in organic systems. After the cultivation of red clover the variation decreased by half (to 7.7%) and even more after the cultivation of wheat (to 6.9%). Therefore the cultivation of red clover enables to reduce the negative effect of pesticides on the microorganisms. Similar trend occurred concerning the Corg content, with the exception that on the winter wheat plot following red clover it increased again.
