Summary

Im Rahmen des 24 Stunden dauernden GEO-Tags der Natur in den Merian Gärten bei Basel wurden 213 Käferarten aus 34 Familien festgestellt. Folgende zwölf Arten aus neun Familien werden ausführlicher besprochen: Anchomenus dorsalis (Carabidae), Lomechusa emarginata (Staphylinidae), Agrilus hyperici (Buprestidae), Aphanisticus elongatus (Buprestidae), Riolus subviolaceus (Elmidae), Langelandia anophthalma (Zopheridae), Sphindus dubius (Sphindidae), Xylographus bostrichoides (Ciidae), Bruchidius imbricornis (Chrysomelidae), Longitarsus scutellaris (Chrysomelidae), Eusomus ovulum (Curculionidae), Dryophthorus corticalis (Dryophthoridae).

Summary translation

In the course of the «GEO-Tag der Natur», a 24-hour biodiversity event in the Merian Gärten close to Basel, 213 beetle species members of 34 families were identified. The following twelve species, representing nine families, are shortly portrayed: Anchomenus dorsalis (Carabidae), Lomechusa emarginata (Staphylinidae), Agrilus hyperici (Buprestidae), Aphanisticus elongatus (Buprestidae), Riolus subviolaceus (Elmidae), Langelandia anophthalma (Zopheridae), Sphindus dubius (Sphindidae), Xylographus bostrichoides (Ciidae), Bruchidius imbricornis (Chrysomelidae), Longitarsus scutellaris (Chrysomelidae), Eusomus ovulum (Curculionidae), Dryophthorus corticalis (Dryophthoridae). In addition to a second record for Switzerland, several species characterized by an uncertain and scattered distribution pattern in Switzerland could also be observed. The obtained species list reflects the specialization area of the participating experts, as well as the collecting methods employed. Thus, this non-exhaustive list represents only partially the potential of the studied area and is undoubtedly biased. Overall the Merian Gärten can be considered as a «biodiversity hotspot» in the urban area of Basel.
