New economic assessments have shown possibilities for profitable production of protein feed from grass crops at the actual price level on grass and soy cake. It should be possible to produce organic grass protein concentrate at 4.60 DKK/kg comparable to the market price of organic soy cake: 5.40 DKK/kg. It will be difficult to make a profitable production at conventional soy cake price: 2.50 DKK/kg. Higher grass yield and shorter transport distance will give a significant reduction in production cost.
