Kleinteiligkeit im Ackerbau ein neues Vertragsnaturschutzprogramm für den Ökologischen Landbau

Summary

A proposal for a new contract nature protection scheme was tested on selected arable fields of organic farms in northern Germany. Management specifications included
small scale division of large fields combined with specifications for crop distribution as well as for proportion of flower strips. Results of collateral bird registrations proved positive effects of the scheme on diversity and abundance of (threatened) breeding and roosting bird species. Due to the results, the scheme was included in the current
(regional) rural development program Schleswig-Holstein.
