Summary
In different regions of Central Europe data of 34 Organic Dairy Farms have been recorded in 2014. The productivity of the pasture land was quite different, however, within the range of 8597 to 9721 kg milk/ha, depending on the region, the yield was the highest productivity has been achieved with growth heights of the sward less than 5 cm (plastic cover method; heights without feed remains). The milk yield/cow was highest in spring and declined until the end of October by 4.1 to 8.6 kg ECM/cow (the latter value in South Germany with mainly seasonal calving in spring.
