Summary
In this empirical study interviews with experts from different business like organic agriculture (OA) or plant breeding companies were conducted to analyze the possibilities and limits of new plant breeding techniques (NBT) for organic agriculture (OA). Furthermore, the consequences of banning the NBT in OA were investigated. The survey showed that these techniques offer beyond some limits also opportunities for OA. Before excluding these techniques a priori, it seems to be rational to decide case by case depending on the cultured traits if these techniques are suitable for OA.
